The Salty Suites

Played their first show together in a high security prison for the criminally insane. They enjoy spending time with their cats, drinking whiskey and taking long walks on the beach. Their music is heavily influenced by small woodland creatures and traveling encyclopedia salesmen. Lyrically their inspiration derives from fortune cookies and grumpy cat memes. Don't miss this functionally dysfunctional band of hooligans.   Bob Stane says:  “in spite of the glowing review, above, you will love them.”  Scott Gates, Chuck Hailes and Chelsea Williams  live in the world of live acoustic music, sharing a passion for roots and bluegrass, as well as traditional mountain music. Scott Gates is as close to a musical prodigy on the mandolin as you will ever meet.  Having performed all over the country and with artists as varied as John McEuen, Nathan McEuen, Ed Helms, Steve Martin, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Kenny Loggins and a virtual Who's-Who of bluegrass players, Scott appeared  on the Ellen Show with Steve Martin, recorded with Kenny Loggins. , Chuck Hailes, is one of the top bass players in the country, schooled in classical and jazz bass playing and techniques. With his  background in bluegrass music, and degree in the Upright Bass, Chuck sings and plays in a way that is uniquely his own. Chelsea Williams has performed from her teen years. While some of her early songs are still hits with her fans, she has continued to develop as a writer penning nearly 100 original songs to date. Chelsea currently makes her living by playing on the street for tips and selling thousands of CDs in recent months, one-by-one, simply on her own on the street. Her magnetic presence draws them in and her songs set the hook. Together they are simply amazing and electrifying, The Salty Suites ask you to lend them your ears and they won’t give them back in Fragments.

Samhain 2019

Ghostly Greetings! The Scottish Fiddlers of Los Angeles are proud to co-sponsor "Samhain: A Celtic Halloween," to be held on consecutive Saturdays, October 20 and 27. Mark your calendars! Buy your tickets!  And, if you can, please consider a little extra support for the production of the ninth year of this special show. This year we are again at the Hudson Theatre! Yay! This will be year #9, a magical, mystical number, so we wanted to do something special for this magical year and give you an opportunity to ensure your favorite song is in the show. Now, before I go further, I will tell you that as excited as myself and the cast are to be back at the Hudson,  it does require a lot more in the financial department, and rather than just ask for donations, we want to give you something in return for your support. We have a GoFundMe page, and on that page is a list of many of the songs from past shows. For a $10 donation, you can pick one of those songs and it's guaranteed to  be in the show. Because the musicians do need to rehearse the music, the deadline for the song-pik is Sept. 10. You can donate after that time, of course! but I can't guarantee your song selection will be in the show. And, for those that would love to be a part of the show, for a $160 donation, we'll bring you on stage for a fun interaction with the cast. The $160 also includes two Preferred  Seat tickets. We can only have one cameo per show, so that means there's only 4 spots available, and it's first come on picking which show you'd like to attend. Another way to help is to purchase our songs from our 2016 show. You set the price! You can purchase the entire album, or singles.
If you'd like to purchase a ticket, they're on sale now!
Tickets To help support us and pick a song for the show,or to be in the show: GoFundMe
To Buy Tickets: To Buy the "Samhain" Album or Singles
Tickets:  $25 General Seating (unassigned)  $30 Preferred Seating (1st 2 rows, assigned)
